CVE-2024-26786

System interruption via premature iommufd identifier overwrite

Published Apr 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Denial of service in Linux kernel 6.6 through 6.7.8 allows local users to interrupt a system through iommufd access teardown. The iopt_add_access() function overwrites access->iopt_access_list_id before alignment calculation succeeds, leaving a mismatched list entry for later removal. Low-privileged local access is required; the resulting WARN_ON can halt a host configured to panic on kernel warnings.
