CVE-2024-26721

Display corruption via misaddressed DSC PPS registers

Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026

Incorrect register-address calculation in Linux 6.7 allows local users to corrupt Intel i915 DSC output through PPS access. The DSCA/DSCC PPS address macro assumes four-byte spacing after PPS 11 and therefore reads or writes PPS 12–16 at addresses that omit the RC-buffer gap. Reachability requires local access to a system using Intel i915 Display Stream Compression, and the bounded consequence is corrupted display output.
