Host crash via leaked IOMMU group reference
Published Apr 3, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux kernel 6.7 through 6.7.5 allows local users to crash PowerPC pSeries hosts during DLPAR removal. spapr_tce_platform_iommu_attach_dev() returns without calling iommu_group_put() when the platform domain is already set, leaking an IOMMU group reference until iommu_reconfig_notifier reaches BUG_ON(). Triggering the path requires local privileges and a PowerPC pSeries environment with platform IOMMU and dynamic logical partition removal.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
