Unauthenticated file upload via config REST endpoint
Published May 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in InstaWP Connect 0.1.0.22 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload arbitrary files through its REST API. The /wp-json/instawp-connect/v1/config handler accepts attacker-supplied files without adequately validating their type before storage. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the upload can place attacker-chosen content on the site.
