CVE-2024-2659Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via undisclosed administrative function

Published Apr 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Command injection in Lenovo SMM, SMM2, and FPC firmware allows remote authenticated users with elevated privileges to execute system commands. Lenovo identifies only a specific administrative function and has not disclosed the function, parameter, or input handling that reaches the command interpreter. Network access and an elevated authenticated account are required; successful exploitation executes commands with firmware-management authority.
