Authenticated script execution via unescaped type parameter
Published Mar 22, 2024 · Updated Mar 27, 2025
Reflected XSS in Codiad 2.8.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via a crafted URL. components/market/dialog.php inserts the type parameter into button-label markup without escaping, allowing a quote to terminate the attribute and inject script. Exploitation requires a user or administrator to open the crafted URL; the injected code then runs in that user's Codiad browser context and can expose accessible cookies.
