Panel script execution via unsanitized URL target
Published Feb 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024
Self-XSS in the URL field in Content Folder Kirby 4.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via a crafted link value. The field copies an entered javascript: URL into its link-button target without validating or sanitizing the value. Exploitation requires a blueprint containing the URL field and social engineering an authenticated Panel user into modifier-clicking the link; execution remains confined to that user's session.
