Stored XSS via unsanitized quiz values
Published Jul 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Watu Quiz before 3.4.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through quiz question and answer values. The quiz editor stores question and answer HTML without sufficient sanitization, and front-end rendering outputs the saved values without adequate escaping. Exploitation requires an administrator to grant plugin access to an author-level account; a visitor who opens the affected quiz then executes the attacker's script in the site context.
