Unauthenticated privileged code execution via PAPI overflow
Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in the Utility daemon in HPE ArubaOS and EdgeConnect SD-WAN allows remote attackers to execute privileged code. The daemon mishandles specially crafted packets sent to the PAPI management protocol on UDP port 8211, overflowing a stack buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants arbitrary code execution as a privileged operating-system user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
