Authenticated file deletion via unrestricted filename path
Published Jul 14, 2025 · Updated Jul 14, 2025
Path traversal in the Avid NEXIS Agent before 2025.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files. The del_usrv_log request handler accepts the filename query parameter as a filesystem path without restricting deletion to log files. The Agent listens on port 5015 and normally runs as root or NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM, so an authenticated request can remove critical system files.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
