Command injection in Avid NEXIS E-Series, F-Series, PRO+, and SDA+ before 2024.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root. The Web Agent's ping and tracert handlers place the unvalidated host GET parameter into a shell command, permitting metacharacters to append commands. Access to the Agent on port 5015 and an authenticated session are required; injected commands run with root permissions on the Linux appliance.
