Cleartext OCPP 1.6J communication in Phoenix Contact CHARX SEC-3xxx firmware 1.5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter messages. The OCPP implementation transmits sensitive controller-to-backend traffic without encryption, allowing a man-in-the-middle to read and modify messages. Exploitation requires access to the communication path but no authentication, and the vendor reports that charging remains unaffected.
