CVE-2024-26272Network attack vector

Administrative action execution via back-URL CSRF bypass

Published Oct 22, 2024 · Updated Oct 22, 2024

CSRF in affected Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP releases allows remote attackers to perform administrative actions via p_l_back_url. The content page editor accepts the back-URL parameter without sufficient CSRF validation, allowing a victim's authenticated browser to submit an administrative request. User interaction and an authenticated administrative session are required; consequences include password changes, server shutdown, and scripting-console code execution.
