CVE-2024-26268Network attack vector

Unauthenticated account enumeration via login timing discrepancy

Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024

User enumeration in affected Portal and DXP releases allows remote attackers to identify valid accounts through login-response timing. UserLocalServiceImpl returned immediately for nonexistent users without performing the password hashing incurred for existing users. Unauthenticated login access is sufficient; disclosure is limited to account existence, and CISA also maps Liferay Portal Enterprise and Ibexa DXP.
