Authenticated code execution via Native Scoring use-after-free
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Use-after-free in Microsoft SQL Server 2017, 2019, and 2022 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through Native Scoring. Microsoft identifies Native Scoring and CWE-416 but has not disclosed the affected function, object lifetime error, or crafted input that triggers reuse of freed memory. Exploitation requires low-privileged network access to a SQL Server instance, and successful code execution can compromise data and interrupt the database service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=16.0.0 <16.0.1125.1
