Remote code execution via heap buffer overflow
Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated May 3, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft's WDAC OLE DB provider for SQL Server allows remote attackers to execute code after user interaction. Microsoft has not published the affected function, malformed input, or memory operation that overruns the heap buffer. A victim must cause attacker-controlled input to reach the provider; successful exploitation can compromise data and interrupt the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
