Administrator escalation via unrestricted profile field updates
Published May 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Privilege escalation in Filigran OpenCTI 5.12.31 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain administrative privileges. The profile-edit GraphQL mutation accepts forbidden profile fields because the API does not restrict which fields a low-privileged account may modify. Any low-privileged authenticated account can compromise application confidentiality and integrity across both Standard and Enterprise editions.
