CVE-2024-2602

Code execution via project-file path traversal

Published Jul 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Path traversal in Schneider Electric FoxRTU Station before 9.3.0 allows local users to execute code by opening a tampered project file. Schneider Electric has not disclosed which project-file field supplies the pathname or how the project loader fails to confine it to an intended directory. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to execute a saved project file previously modified by an attacker, after which code runs with that user's privileges.
