CVE-2024-26004Network attack vector

ControllerAgent crash via null CANopenDevice pointer dereference

Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Null-pointer dereference in Phoenix Contact CHARX SEC-3xxx 1.5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the ControllerAgent service. Malformed HomePlug packets reach CANopenDevice object handling, which dereferences a null pointer during processing. Exploitation requires no authentication and interrupts charging functionality by stopping the control service.
