Unauthenticated command execution via OCPP input validation
Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated Jan 24, 2025
Command injection in Phoenix Contact CHARX SEC-3xxx firmware through 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to run commands through the OCPP service. The service improperly validates untrusted OCPP input before using it in command execution; Phoenix Contact has not disclosed the affected request field or command-building operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, but commands initially run with limited privileges; chaining separate flaws can lead to broader remote code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
