Local privilege escalation via unchecked bigo ioctl
Published Mar 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Use-after-free in the gchip bigo driver in Google Android 13 allows local users to escalate privileges through a crafted ioctl request. The bigo_unlocked_ioctl handler in bigo.c omits a bounds check, causing a use-after-free; public material does not identify the mishandled object or command. Exploitation requires local access to an affected Pixel device, needs no additional execution privileges, and requires no user interaction.
