CVE-2024-25982Network attack vector

Admin-triggered language-pack updates via missing CSRF token

Published Feb 19, 2024 · Updated Apr 24, 2025

CSRF in Moodle LMS before 4.1.9, 4.2.0 through 4.2.5, and 4.3.0 through 4.3.2 allows remote attackers to trigger language-pack updates. The Language import utility's update-all link omits the session token that Moodle uses to validate state-changing requests. Exploitation requires user interaction in an authenticated administrator's browser, and no broader consequence than triggering this operation is published.
