Cross-group forum disclosure via course-level context lookup
Published Feb 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Improper access control in affected Moodle LMS releases allows remote authenticated users to export forum data from other groups. The forum export path searched enrolled users with the course context and course group mode instead of the forum activity context, so activity-level Separate Groups restrictions were skipped. By default, a non-editing teacher account can retrieve otherwise inaccessible forum data; no integrity or availability impact is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
