Authenticated command execution via unsanitized config_sequence parameter
Published Feb 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024
OS command injection in Netis WF2780 firmware 2.1.40144 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through an HTTP request. The other_para function in bin/cgitest.cgi passes the HTTP body's config_sequence value into command execution without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Reachability requires low-privilege credentials and adjacent-network access; successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands and can reboot the router.
