Administrator-session script execution via forged album creation
Published Mar 22, 2024 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Lychee 3.1.6 allows remote attackers to create albums through an administrator's authenticated browser. The Album::add handler accepts a cross-origin form POST at php/index.php without anti-CSRF validation and creates an album from the supplied title. An administrator must open the attacker-controlled page while signed in; chaining the forced creation with the separately tracked title XSS executes script in that session.
