CVE-2024-25763Network attack vector

Service crash via post-deletion client access

Published Feb 26, 2024 · Updated Dec 6, 2024

Use-after-free in openNDS 10.2.0 auth state handling allows remote authenticated users to crash the service during deauthentication. The auth_change_state function calls client_list_delete and then reads client->fw_connection_state from the freed client allocation. An authenticated client must be moved back to the preauthenticated state; the documented consequence is a service crash.
