Remote code execution via unchecked device name
Published Feb 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC9 3.0 firmware 15.03.06.42_multi allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via devName. The formSetDeviceName handler passes the user-supplied devName value onward without checking its length, allowing it to overrun a stack buffer. An unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network must submit a crafted request; successful exploitation executes code or interrupts service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
