Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked timeZone length
Published Feb 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC9 3.0 firmware 15.03.06.42_multi allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The fromSetSysTime handler passes the user-controlled timeZone parameter into a stack buffer without checking its length. No authentication or user interaction is required; a crafted request can crash the router or execute code in the management service.
