Arbitrary code execution via unchecked list length
Published Feb 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC9 firmware 15.03.06.42_multi allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted request. The fromSetIpMacBind handler passes the user-controlled list parameter onward without a length check, allowing oversized data to overflow its stack buffer. Reachability requires access to the router's adjacent network; exploitation can crash the device or execute code.
