CVE-2024-25730Public exploit

Wi-Fi access via predictable default WPA2 key

Published Feb 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024

Insufficient entropy in Hitron CODA-4582 and CODA-4589 default WPA2 keys allows context-dependent attackers to gain Wi-Fi access. The key generator concatenates a five-digit hexadecimal value with the fixed string Hitron, limiting the keyspace to about one million candidates. Exploitation requires Wi-Fi proximity and a device that still uses its generated default key, after which the attacker gains access to the protected wireless network.
