CVE-2024-25724Network attack vector

Code execution via service XML parsing overflow

Published May 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025

Buffer overflow in four XML-parsing services in RTI Connext DDS Professional 5.3.1 through 6.1.0 allows attackers to execute code. The services parse attacker-controlled XML, but RTI has not disclosed the exact unchecked copy or allocation operation that overruns the buffer. Reachability is unauthenticated over RTPS without Security Plugins protection, or local through malicious API parameters or writable XML files; exploitation can run code, alter service behavior, disclose data, or crash the service.
