CVE-2024-25713Public exploit

Memory corruption and process crash via double release

Published Feb 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Double free in yyjson 0.8.0 and earlier allows local users to corrupt memory or crash a consuming process through repeated document release. The pool allocator's free path neither checks for cycles nor destroys released pointers, permitting a second yyjson_mut_doc_free call to reuse stale allocator state. Exploitation requires a consuming program to free the same document twice; the maintainer classifies that call as undefined behavior and disputes that it is a library flaw.
