CVE-2024-25678Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Connection interruption via retained obsolete encryption keys

Published Feb 9, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025

Improper key lifecycle handling in LiteSpeed QUIC Library before 4.0.4 allows remote attackers to interrupt PSK connections via crafted QUIC packets. The packet processor retains Initial and Handshake encryption keys after advancing encryption levels, so packets protected with obsolete keys remain accepted. Exploitation requires a PSK-configured server and sniffed network traffic; a crafted CONNECTION_CLOSE frame then interrupts the connection.
