Code execution via freed ComboBox widget reuse
Published Apr 30, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Use-after-free in the ComboBox widget in Foxit PDF Reader 2024.1.0.23997 allows remote attackers to execute code via a malicious PDF. A Format-event callback invokes deletePages twice, frees the CBF_Widget object, and then reuses that object without validation. Exploitation requires opening the crafted document, or visiting a malicious site when the browser plugin is enabled, and yields code execution in the application context.
