Improper DNS reply validation in dnsjava before 3.6.0 allows remote attackers to substitute trusted records via rogue recursive resolvers. LookupSession and ValidatingResolver expose unnormalized answer records without verifying their relationship to the queried name or its alias chain. Exploitation requires control of a recursive resolver or a position on UDP or TCP traffic and can redirect credentials, disclose mail, or alter application trust decisions.
