CVE-2024-25627Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Persistent script execution via uploaded HTML files

Published Feb 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024

Stored cross-site scripting in alf.io before 2.0-M4-2304 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through uploaded HTML files. The admin upload endpoint accepts attacker-supplied base64 content and a text/html media type, then serves the stored file so its event handlers execute in a visitor's browser. Administrative access is required to plant the payload, and exploitation requires a user to visit the generated file URL; the reported impact is persistent access through browser-side script execution.
