CVE-2024-25624Network attack vector

Remote code execution via unsafe Jinja2 report rendering

Published Apr 25, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Server-side template injection in iris-web before 2.4.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through report generation. The report generator renders administrator-uploaded templates in an improperly restricted Jinja2 environment, allowing template expressions to reach unsafe attributes and methods. An administrator must first upload a crafted template; report generation then executes its payload on the server and can be triggered by any authenticated user.
