CVE-2024-25619Network attack vector

Streaming access retention via skipped token callbacks

Published Feb 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Insufficient token revocation in affected Mastodon releases allows remote authenticated users to keep receiving Streaming API events. Doorkeeper deletes an application's access tokens with delete_all, bypassing AccessTokenExtension callbacks that would publish kill events to streaming. Exploitation requires a user-created OAuth application on the same account; affected releases are before 3.5.18, 4.0.0 through 4.0.13, 4.1.0 through 4.1.13, and 4.2.0 through 4.2.5.
