Authenticated arbitrary file upload via unchecked image type
Published Mar 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 8, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in 74CMS 3.28.0 allows remote authenticated users to write attacker-controlled files via imgBase64. sendCompanyLogo derives the saved extension from the data:image subtype and writes the decoded body without restricting that subtype to permitted image formats. A low-privilege session can therefore create a PHP file in the upload path; code execution depends on the web server executing PHP there.
