Open redirect via double-slash URL bypass
Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024
Open redirect in affected Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP releases allows remote attackers to redirect users through crafted URL parameters. HtmlUtil.escapeRedirect accepts scheme-relative values beginning with two forward slashes as relative paths, so redirect, FORWARD_URL, and dependent parameters can point off site. Exploitation is unauthenticated but requires a user to follow the crafted link, enabling redirection to an attacker-chosen external site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
