XXE in Liferay Portal and Liferay DXP allows attackers with deployment permissions to read sensitive data or exhaust system resources. Java2WsddTask._format processes deployment XML without restricting external entity references, allowing referenced content to be resolved. Affected releases include Portal 7.2.0 through 7.4.3.7 and DXP 7.4 before update 4, 7.3 before update 12, and 7.2 before fix pack 20.
