Unauthenticated template disclosure via default guest permissions
Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Apr 24, 2025
Incorrect default permissions in Liferay Portal and DXP allow remote attackers to view any web content template through the UI or API. The Journal module assigns the Guest role view permission for web content templates by default instead of restricting template reads to authorized roles. The flaw affects Portal 7.2.0 through 7.4.3.4 and DXP 7.4.13, 7.3 before service pack 3, and 7.2 before fix pack 17; no account or user interaction is required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
