Stored script execution via geolocation field names
Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in Liferay Portal 7.2.0 through 7.4.2 and Liferay DXP 7.2 and 7.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject script. The Expando module stores a crafted payload supplied as the name of a geolocation custom field and later renders it as web script or HTML. Exploitation requires authenticated field-editing access and subsequent interaction with the stored content, enabling script execution in another user's browser context.
