CVE-2024-25565

Local denial of service via undisclosed firmware flaw

Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 13, 2024

Insufficient control-flow management in Intel Xeon UEFI firmware allows local users with authenticated access to cause a denial of service. Intel has not disclosed the affected firmware locus or the incorrect control-flow operation that triggers the failure. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access to a system using affected 4th- or 5th-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor firmware, and the reported consequence is limited to service interruption.
