Arbitrary JavaScript execution via workspace cookie eval
Published Mar 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Cross-site scripting in ProcessMaker before 4.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through the pm_sys_sys cookie. Login-page JavaScript passes the cookie contents to eval while converting the stored workspace value into an object, causing attacker-controlled data to be treated as code. Exploitation requires control over that parent-domain cookie and user interaction when the affected login page is visited.
