Service interruption via crafted packet null dereference
Published Nov 14, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024
Null pointer dereference in the PAN-OS GlobalProtect gateway allows remote attackers to stop its service with a crafted packet. Palo Alto Networks has not disclosed which packet field reaches the null pointer or the gateway code path that dereferences it. Only firewalls configured with a GlobalProtect gateway are exposed; repeated packets place the firewall in maintenance mode.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.2.0 <10.2.11 changes=[{"at":"10.2.11","status":"unaffected"}]
