Arbitrary file read via platform-dependent path validation
Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Path traversal in ParisNeo LoLLMs WebUI before 9.5 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the user_infos endpoint. The endpoint validates its path parameter with Path(path).is_absolute(), whose platform-dependent handling fails to reject a crafted Windows path. No authentication is built in, but remote exploitation requires the locally oriented web interface to be exposed over a network; successful requests disclose files readable by the service account.
