Credential disclosure via unauthenticated UDP discovery
Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 15, 2024
Information disclosure in CYCZCAM, SHIX ZHAO, SHIXCAM A9 Camera firmware CYCAM_48B_BC01_v87_0903 allows remote attackers to read credentials. The camera's UDP service on port 8600 answers the two-byte 0x2211 discovery request with its IP address, device ID, username, and password. An attacker on the camera's local network needs no authentication and can use the returned password to add the camera and view its video feed.
