Stored script execution via unfiltered quoted content
Published Feb 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Stored XSS in article publishing in emlog Pro 2.2.8 allows remote attackers to execute script in a reader's browser via quoted content. The publishing path stores quoted article content without filtering it, and the home-page article view renders that content so an embedded payload executes. An attacker must submit crafted content into a published article and a reader must view it; the script can read or modify data available to that browser session.
