CVE-2024-25331Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via HNAP stack overflow

Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in the HNAP service in D-Link DIR-822 firmware 2.02KRB09 and 2.03WWb01 allows remote attackers to execute code. The HNAP service writes attacker-controlled request data beyond a stack-allocated buffer, but published materials do not identify the affected function or request field. The service must be reachable from the router's LAN; successful exploitation runs arbitrary code on the router without credentials or user interaction.
